The first thing I thought of when I read the story about Iowa’s Lake Delhi dam break was how interesting it would be to see what monster fish were stranded in those shallow waters between the mud flats…but I know this was a tragedy for those who had (and lost) homes around the lake and for those who loved to fish it.

Miss Mojo finds marlin near LA-Buoy
The Miss Mojo, from Kona, was in town for a week, with owner Paul Carlton, wife Johanna, and kids doing some fishing. At the helm was Capt. Tio Kearney and deckman Mike Nesbitt, with Johanna landing a 452.2-pound blue marlin.

Destin fishing captains are looking for some relief.
In the days following the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, the fishing area for charter boats grew smaller and smaller, leaving them only state waters to fish. And now the season for the signature red snapper has come to a close.

The month-long Bob's Bait Catfish Derby kicked off July 1 with a $100 cash prize going to the angler who weighs in the biggest catfish at Bob's Bait in Bakersfield during July. The current leader is Henry Romero, Bakersfield, with a 14-pound cat from the aqueduct
